ATPC2016 Awards Ceremony will be taken place during the conference banquet.

Banquet: @Yokohama Bay Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Nichirin (5F), 19:00~21:00 on October 5 (Wed).

ATPC Significant Contribution Award

The Significant Contribution Award has been established in 2010 as a part of 9th Asian Thermophysical Properties Conference in Beijing (ATPC2010). The ATPC2016 Organizing Committee expects to introduce the Significant Contribution Award as a way of encouraging academic research and enhancing academic qualities of Asian Thermophysical Properties Research. The award is provided to a professional thermophysical scientist who has made significant contributions or achieved great accomplishments to Asian Thermophysical Properties Research and been recognized by the academia.

Evaluation Process

The award is open to those engaged in research activities that emphasize thermophysical properties. Candidates are expected to be employed at institutions of higher education or scientific establishment. Candidates are put forth by nomination from international committee members with nominating letters demonstrate the breadth of the nominee’s contributions. Nominations from each country are required to be no more than two individuals. In addition to the nominating letter a vitae must be submitted for nominees so that the committee will have some way of knowing how that individual meets the criteria.

Who Selects the Awardee(s)?

An awards committee of at least three individuals: 2 international committee members of ATPC and one open position (i.e. local organizing committee member with professional background), will be elected in the year before the award is given. This committee will review the nominations and vitae submitted for each nominee and will make the final decision.

Award Ceremony

We suggest that the conference consider giving the award every three years on the closing ceremony by the local organizing committee of ATPC. The Significant Contribution Award recipient shall be bestowed the honorary certificate.

Deadline

Nominations by international committee members are open starting 8 July 2016 and will close on 2 September 2016. Late submissions and incomplete applications will not be accepted.
